Jayde’s hospitality journey began at just 13 years old, when $5 an hour cash-in-hand felt like winning the lottery. What started as a job quickly became a passion — driven by a love of food, fast-paced service, and creating experiences that make people feel genuinely cared for.
By 23, Jayde opened her own restaurant, Syd & Phyllis, pouring seven years of heart, hustle, and late nights into building a much-loved space for the community. While she eventually sold the business and stepped into a new chapter, the hospitality itch never left — it’s simply part of who she is.
Today, Jayde brings years of hands-on experience, leadership, and passion to everything she does, guided by her core values of quality food, meaningful connection, and service with a smile.
When she’s not making magic happen, you’ll find her at home with her wife, Cat, their dog, and their cat — living proof that following your passion makes life richer, warmer, and a whole lot more fun.

A pairing forged by the gods of good food, Cat and Sash have been cooking side by side since early 2023. They first crossed paths in a pub kitchen, where the tables quickly turned — Sash stepped up into a Sous Chef role, with Cat right by her side.
Then came the travel itch. Sash took off to explore South East Asia and the UK, while Cat made her way to Ruby Collective. A few weeks later, fate (and Perth) called Sash home — and the duo were reunited where they belong.
Together, Cat and Sash have revitalised our catering range and grab-and-go meals, with plenty more exciting things coming this year. With over 28 years of combined experience, they bring skill, creativity, and serious heart to everything they make.
Food is what makes them happy — and it shows in every dish that leaves the kitchen. When they’re not cooking up a storm, you’ll usually find them brunching with Jayde… purely for research purposes, of course.
